2004 was a big year for me. I entered my first virtual world, created my first bit of machinima, started videoblogging and became really connected to people via the internet. Now, four years down the road I’m so immersed in this social / networked / artistic / virtual / interactive / video space that it just seems… normal. It’s the air that I breath. But when I stop to think about it for a minute, I’m struck by how incredible it all really is. This is the stuff of the future. That is, the future as crystallized in my 12 year old mind that grew up on Star Trek reruns, Carl Sagan walking us through the Cosmos and 2001: A Space Odyssey on laser disc. So my intention with with this blog is to step back a bit and document this future as it’s happening.
A little bit about me - I’m Michael Verdi and I’m a creative director at Millions of Us, an agency specializing in virtual worlds. I maintain a personal videoblog at michaelverdi.com, help to develop Show In A Box and I’m co-author of the book, Secrets of Videoblogging.
